Barrett Christy's pro model – a women's directional C3 board for fast carving, park and deep snow. A camber machine with progressive Magne-Traction for women who ride with confidence.
GNU Barrett is the Pro model of Barrett Christy - one of the first women at Mervin with her own Pro model - and brings together more than 25 years of GNU experience with women's boards. It is the women's little brother of the Dynamo: a directional, camber-dominant machine for women who ride fast and confidently.
The C3 profile is the return of camber without losing the rocker: camber-dominant, with a slight hint of rocker between the feet that keeps the turn easy and intuitive. The progressive Magne-Traction is less pronounced toward the nose - turn entry is less "biting", and the tail bites firmly. So there is no loss of control or of easy turning.
This is an aggressive board with a lot of stability at high speed. It chases down the hard groomers, gives a big ollie and stable landings in the park, and with a setback mount it floats in deep snow too. Carbon Power Bands make it light, springy and precise from edge to edge.
The Barrett is for very confident women - those who want to be the fastest on the run and race their partners. We have sold it to a rider of exactly this type and the feedback was outstanding. Part of the proceeds from the model go to Boarding for Breast Cancer.
Technical highlights: Barrett Christy; women's directional; C3; 1.5" setback; progressive Magne-Traction; G Lite 3 Aspen/Paulownia; Carbon Power Bands; Knife Cut sintered base (faster, holds wax); flex around 4.5-6; all-mountain / carving / freeride.
Our version is the 2025/26 generation with artwork by Ryder Biolos. The profile and sizes are the same as in 2024/25.

Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the effective edge (the part of the edge that cuts into the snow) together decide how a board rides. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should fit the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet, so toes and heel don't drag when carving.
Not sure which size? Write to us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
