Barrett Christy pro model - a women's directional C3 board for fast carving, park and deep snow. A camber-dominant machine with progressive Magne-Traction for women who ride confidently.
GNU Barrett is Barrett Christy's pro model - one of the first women at Mervin with her own pro model - and it brings together more than 25 years of GNU experience with women's boards. This is the little sister of the Dynamo: a directional, camber-dominant machine for women who ride fast and confidently.
The C3 profile is the return of camber without losing the rocker: camber dominant, with a slightly hinted rocker between the feet that keeps the easy, intuitive turn. The progressive Magne-Traction is less pronounced toward the nose - turn entry is less "biting" - while the tail bites firmly. So there is no loss of control or of easy turning.
This is an aggressive board with very high stability at speed. It chases down hardpack, gives big pop and stable landings in the park, and with a setback mount it floats in deep snow too. Carbon Power Bands make it light, springy and precise from edge to edge.
Barrett is for very confident women - the ones who want to be the fastest on the piste and race their partners. We have sold it to a rider of exactly this type and the feedback was outstanding. Part of the proceeds from the model go to Boarding for Breast Cancer.
Technical highlights: Barrett Christy; women's directional; C3; 1.5" setback; progressive Magne-Traction; G Lite 3 Aspen and Paulownia core; Carbon Power Bands; Knife Cut sintered base; flex around 4.5-6; all-mountain / carving / freeride.
Ours is the 2024/25 generation with artwork by Shaun Thomas. The profile, sizes and construction are the same as in 2025/26.
Review on our blog: GNU Barrett review: the women's Dynamo with C3 for speed
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 155 cm | 118 cm | 24.8 cm | 8.1 m | 45.7-58.4 / 3.8 cm | 6 | from 50 kg |
Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and effective edge length together decide how a board performs. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful, a longer one gives more stability and float. The waist should match the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet so that toes and heel do not drag when carving.
Not sure which size? Message us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
