Bike, Surf, Snowboard and Ski Shop!
The GNU Head Space is a typical GNU freestyle model, built around the style and ideas of Forest Bailey. Forest is one of those snowboarders for whom the line between snowboard and skateboard culture practically disappears - street, park, groomed terrain and natural obstacles become one common playground.
The Head Space is a true twin with a camber-dominant C3 profile and a flex around 5-6/10. The board is relatively soft and flexible, but the camber keeps it lively, springy and full of pop.
The softer construction helps with butters, on rails and when taking heavy landings or broken terrain in the park. At the same time Magne-Traction keeps control on hard and icy snow.
This is a real board for demanding freestyle snowboarders and skaters in the mountains - soft but tough; playful but not characterless.
Technical highlights: Forest Bailey; true twin; C3; centered stance (no setback); G Lite 2 Aspen / Paulownia; Carbon Power Bands; sintered base; Magne-Traction; park / street / freestyle.
We carry the 2023/24 generation - the first with the classic rounded "pill" twin shape after the years as an asymmetric twin (Asym). The profile is C3, but the construction has no Carbon Power Bands: triaxial/biaxial fiberglass over a wood core of Aspen and Paulownia.

| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 149 cm | 112 cm | 25 cm | 7.8 m | 51.5-63.5 / 0 cm | 4.5 | from 45 kg |

Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the length of the effective edge together determine how a board rides. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful, a longer one gives more stability and float. The waist should match your boot: at around 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43, at 25-26 cm up to size 44-45, and the W versions are for a bigger foot, so that toes and heel do not drag when carving.
