The GNU Recess Package Mini is a kids' package: a board and bindings, mounted and sized for each other. It is made for the smallest riders - for the first days on snow and the first turns.

The board has a flat profile - it stands steady underfoot and doesn't catch an edge - with a radial sidecut that doesn't bite the edge and a soft flex, so the turn comes by itself, without force. The 80, 90 and 100 cm sizes are true twins with a centered stance (no setback) and center mounting.

The package includes Speed Strap bindings in size XS (US 12C-5): a single strap with a buckle and a quickly adjustable heel. The child gets strapped in fast, and the parent doesn't fight with straps in the snow. GNU gives a minimum of about 15 kg for all three sizes, so here the child's height and age are what to look at.

This is a real Mervin snowboard in a kids' size - not a toy, but the first step toward the board the child will chase their parents down the run on after a few seasons.

Technical highlights: true twin; flat profile; centered stance (no setback); radial sidecut; soft flex around 5; Speed Strap XS bindings (US 12C-5); sizes 80/90/100 cm; from about 15 kg; first turns / all-mountain.

Sizes

Size	Contact length	Waist	Sidecut radius	Stance (min-max / setback)	Flex (1–10)	Rider weight
80 cm	50 cm	20 cm	4 m	27.9-34.3 / 0 cm	5	from 15 kg
90 cm	60 cm	21 cm	5.5 m	27.9-35.5 / 0 cm	5	from 15 kg
100 cm	66 cm	21 cm	5.7 m	27.9-35.5 / 0 cm	5	from 15 kg

For kids' boards, size is chosen by the child's weight and height - the table shows the minimum weight that Mervin gives. A shorter board is easier to control and the child progresses faster; a "grow into it" board is harder to ride and slows learning.
