A women's true twin with hybrid C2 for riders who treat the whole mountain like a park – piste, natural jumps beside the piste, park and riding switch. Magne-Traction and a sintered base (faster, holds wax).
GNU Velvet is the board the girls on the GNU team choose when they ride the whole mountain like a park. The idea is Naima Antolin's and the artwork is Hannah Eddy's. If the Gloss is the women's Money, Velvet is the next step - the same philosophy of a women's true twin with C2, but with a G Lite 2 core and a sintered base (faster, holds wax).
The hybrid C2 profile is a rocker between the feet with camber zones under the feet. The rocker makes the board catch-free and easy to balance when pressing the nose or tail, while the camber and the lively flex give pop and stability. Magne-Traction keeps control on hardpack and ice.
A true twin with a centered stance (no setback) - equally natural in both directions. Velvet is calm in any conditions and as balanced in the park as on a slalom course with angled turns or on the street.
This is a board for a woman who already rides confidently and wants to turn the whole mountain into a playground - groomers, natural jumps along the run, park, riding switch. It is not stiff and demanding, but it is not a board you will outgrow quickly either.
Technical highlights: women's true twin; hybrid C2; centered stance (no setback); Magne-Traction; G Lite 2 with Aspen / Paulownia; tri-axial / bi-axial fiberglass; Eco Sublimated sintered base; flex around 4-5.5; park / freestyle / all-mountain.
Our version is the 2025/26 generation - compared with 2024/25, sizes 147, 150 and 153 are slightly wider (147: 24 cm waist instead of 23.9 cm).

Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the effective edge (the part of the edge that cuts into the snow) together decide how a board rides. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should fit the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet, so toes and heel don't drag when carving.
