The women's version of the Cold Brew – a directional C2 board with a longer nose and setback that doesn't load the back leg in deep snow. For advanced women, in deep snow and on the piste.
The Lib Tech Cortado is the women's version of the legendary Cold Brew - a board for women who ride deep snow and sit with us in front of the forecasts waiting for the big white pleasure. Like the coffee of the same name, it is balanced half and half - freestyle and freeride.
The directional C2 is a balanced combination of rocker and camber, and the longer nose, shorter tail and about 1.5" setback shift the weight back. This way the nose floats easily out of deep snow and the back foot isn't loaded all day. Magne-Traction is slightly less pronounced, as on the Cold Brew - control stays, and on transitions from deep to hard the edge doesn't bite aggressively.
It also rides the groomers without worry - the C2 gives enough control in the nose and tail. Switching to riding switch is possible, but this is not a board for a whole run ridden switch. Before mounting the bindings we recommend slightly detuning the edge at the nose and tail - the board enters turns more gently and doesn't scare you with aggression.
The Cortado is one of the most suitable boards for advanced women who want to ride incredibly in both deep snow and on hardpack.
Technical highlights: women's directional; C2; about 1.5" setback; longer nose / shorter tail; 8 m sidecut; Magne-Traction; OP construction; 75% Aspen / 25% Paulownia; flex around 5-6; all-mountain / deep snow / freeride.
Blog review: Lib Tech Cortado review: the women’s Cold Brew for deep snow
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|

Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the effective edge (the part of the edge that cuts into the snow) together decide how a board rides. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should fit the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet, so toes and heel don't drag when carving.
Not sure which size? Write to us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
