The Lib Tech Escalator Split is Lib Tech's short splitboard take: a board with everything you need for a splitboard mission and nothing extra.
The profile is micro camber: on the climb the pressure is spread evenly across the skins, and combined with the light tapered shape it gives great float when the board is assembled and you are in deep snow. A nose with a smooth entry, a short tail and a stable platform keep it fast in soft snow and nimble in tight, technical terrain.
The short overall length is its biggest asset on the climb: the board is lighter and kick turns on the steep slope are easier. The 153 has only 95 cm of contact length, and the wide 26.5 cm waist and the tapered shape make up for it with surface area and float.
The Escalator is for a rider with backcountry experience who wants a light, maneuverable splitboard for powder, trees and technical lines. The 3-D integrated inserts for the clips and the Karakoram Ultra Clips tighten the two halves, and when assembled, with splitboard bindings, it rides like a regular board.
Key specs: directional; micro camber; light tapered shape; 3" setback; 95 cm contact length; 26.5 cm waist; sidecut radius 8.1 m; 3-D integrated inserts for the clips; Karakoram Ultra Clips; Knife Cut sintered base; Magne-Traction; flex 7/10; powder / backcountry / splitboard.

| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 153 cm | 95 cm | 26.5 cm | 8.1 m | 49.5-63.5 / 7.6 cm | 7 | from 65 kg |
A splitboard is chosen like a regular board for the same terrain: by weight (the table shows the lower limit Mervin gives), with a bit more length or surface area for float in deep snow with a backpack. The waist should match the boot; touring boots are usually bulkier.
