The little sister of the Rider's Choice - Jamie Anderson's women's asymmetrical twin with C2X for park, tricks, riding switch and beautiful carving on the piste. For more advanced riders.
GNU Ladies Choice is the little sister of the Rider's Choice and one of GNU's signature women's boards. The model has been made for more than ten years together with Jamie Anderson - the most decorated woman in snowboarding history - and carries her balance between progression and play.
This is an asymmetrical twin (Asym) with GNU's patent: the heel side is cut deeper, because a rider sits asymmetrically on the board and the two turns do not feel the same. The board has a "heels here" label - the heels mount on that side. The result is that the toe-side and heel-side turns feel equal, and the carving trail on the piste comes out very clean.
The C2X profile has pronounced rocker between the feet and pronounced camber toward the nose and tail. The rocker gives the intuitive turn, and the camber gives the jump and the pop. In flex the board is matched to the lower weight of women, and Magne-Traction holds on hardpack.
The board is tuned a little over 50% toward stiff - piste, park, tricks, riding switch. In deep snow it is a touch harder unless you move the mount back; with a setback mount it becomes a great tool for deep snow too. This is a board for more advanced women - if you are just starting, a board with BTX is the better choice.
Technical highlights: Jamie Anderson; women's asymmetrical twin (Asym); C2X; centered stance (no setback); asymmetrical sidecut radius and contact; Magne-Traction; G Lite 3 Aspen and Paulownia core; Carbon Power Bands; Knife Cut sintered base; flex around 4-5.5; park / freestyle / all-mountain.
Ours is the 2024/25 generation - the geometry, sizes and construction are the same as in 2025/26, and the artwork is again by Sarah King.
Review on our blog: GNU Ladies Choice review: the women's asymmetrical twin with C2X
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 142.5 cm | 107 cm | 23.2 cm | 8.0 / 7.7 m | 47-59.7 / 0 cm | 4 | from 25 kg |
Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and effective edge length together decide how a board performs. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful, a longer one gives more stability and float. The waist should match the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet so that toes and heel do not drag when carving.
Not sure which size? Message us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
