GNU Money is one of the best-value boards in the GNU range - not "cheap" in construction, but a reasonably priced way into real Mervin technology.
The hybrid C2 profile combines a pronounced rocker between the feet with camber zones. The rocker gives easy handling and a Skate Banana feel, while the camber zones bring back control, carving and pop.
The softer construction makes Money friendly and forgiving for someone just starting out, without turning it into a temporary learner board. It can stay interesting for a teenager who wants serious freestyle, park and riding switch.
It is one of the most sensible value-oriented models from GNU and Mervin - a board that can be your first serious board and keep going for a long time.
Technical highlights: true twin (identical nose and tail - rides the same in both directions); hybrid C2; centered stance (no setback); Magne-Traction; G Lite 1; poplar / Paulownia; tri-axial / bi-axial fiberglass; Co-Ex base; flex around 5.5-6.
Our version is the 2025/26 generation: GNU lists the profile as C2e - a softer, easier-riding variant of the hybrid C2, with elliptical camber zones under the feet.
Blog review: GNU Money review: Mervin technology at a reasonable price
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 154 cm | 116 cm | 25.4 cm | 8.1 m | 51.5-63.5 / 0 cm | 6 | from 45 kg |
Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the effective edge (the part of the edge that cuts into the snow) together decide how a board rides. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should fit the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet, so toes and heel don't drag when carving.
