Pro Choice is the camber version of the Ladies Choice - Jamie Anderson's women's asymmetrical twin with C3 for park, jumps and fast all-mountain riding. For advanced riders who want more pop and stability.
GNU Pro Choice is the board Jamie Anderson picks for the big days - the camber version of the Ladies Choice. What the RC C3 is to the Rider's Choice, the Pro Choice is to the Ladies Choice: the same asymmetrical twin (Asym) geometry, but with a C3 profile, more pop and more stability.
The asymmetry is GNU's patent: the heel side is cut deeper and has a shorter contact, while the toe side has a longer one. This evens out the two turns, which the body does not make equally. The board has a "heels here" label - the heels mount on that side, otherwise the asymmetry works against you.
C3 is a camber-dominant profile with a slightly hinted rocker between the feet: it holds the edge in carving, pops hard off the lip of a jump and lands stable. Magne-Traction holds on ice, and the G Lite 3 core, Carbon Power Bands and Knife Cut sintered base are the most serious construction GNU puts in a women's freestyle board.
This is a board for an advanced rider - park, jumps, halfpipe, fast all-mountain riding. It forgives less than the Ladies Choice with C2X, so if you are still learning tricks, the softer version is the better choice. For deep snow - mount the bindings back.
Technical highlights: Jamie Anderson; women's asymmetrical twin (Asym); C3; centered stance (no setback); asymmetrical sidecut radius and contact; Magne-Traction; Carbon Power Bands; Knife Cut sintered base; flex around 4.5-5.5; park / freestyle / all-mountain.
The Pro Choice 2024/25 is the previous name of the Ladies Choice Camber - from 2025/26 the model is called that. Ours is 148.5 cm: 111 cm contact length, 24.2 cm waist, flex 5.
Review of a similar model on our blog: GNU Ladies Choice review: the women's asymmetrical twin with C2X
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 148.5 cm | 111 cm | 24.2 cm | 8.2 / 7.9 m | 47-59.7 / 0 cm | 5 | from 35 kg |
Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and effective edge length together decide how a board performs. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful, a longer one gives more stability and float. The waist should match the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet so that toes and heel do not drag when carving.
