When we tried the Doughboy 195, we could not believe what one of the longest snowboards you can ride in series production is like.
195 cm looks absurd until you step on. Then you understand an old theory: length alone does not decide whether you can ride a board. Technique, weight, surface area and geometry matter no less.
The Doughboy uses traditional camber, not C2. This huge camber board makes the rider turn with weight, pressure and real technique, not just "flick" a short board around under them.
It feels like a huge old Cadillac on snow. The beaten, icy afternoon piste smooths out and starts to feel almost like greasy powder. The length simply passes through the bumps instead of reacting nervously to each of them.
The Doughboy 195 is a board for the collection and a real snow arrow: not because it is practical every day, but because it is special.
Key specs: 195 cm; traditional camber; 26.1 cm waist; 152 cm contact length; sidecut radius 9 m; centered stance (no setback); Magne-Traction; flex about 7/10; huge float and carving potential.
Review on the blog: Lib Tech Doughboy 195 review: who it is for and how it rides
| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 195 cm | 152 cm | 26.1 cm | 9 m | 51.5-63.5 / 0 cm | 7 | from 70 kg |
The size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist, profile and effective edge length together tell how a board will work. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should match the boot: at about 24-25 cm the boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for a bigger foot, so that toes and heel do not drag when carving.
Not sure which size? Write to us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo – we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
