Matt Biolos and Austen Sweetin's surf board – directional camber, a long floaty nose and a winged swallow tail. For deep snow, cliff drops and surf turns.
The Lib Tech Mayhem Sweetfish is a joint project of Matt Biolos and Austen Sweetin - one loves to surf, the other to snowboard. A surfboard in the shape of a snowboard, inspired by Lib Tech's first Rocket and ...Lost.
The profile is a directional camber with slight early rise and a long floating nose for easy carving and float in deep snow. The light kink in the tail gives power when exiting a turn on hardpack and stability when landing in deep snow. The swallow tail with wings has less surface area and sinks in soft snow, so the nose stays up without effort.
With a radial sidecut and no Magne-Traction, the edge is clean, simple and smooth, as on the Rad Ripper. Every board is finished by hand by the best craftsmen at Mervin. The contact length is short - the 150 has 90 cm - which makes it very maneuverable for its size.
This is a board for cliff drops, deep snow pillows and surf turns on the groomers, but also for the wall - a collector's arrow in a board collection, from the Quiver Killer family.
Technical highlights: Matt Biolos and Austen Sweetin; directional; camber with slight early rise; swallow tail with wings; light kink in the tail; 3" setback; radial sidecut; no Magne-Traction; sintered base (faster, holds wax); hand finished; flex around 6-7; deep snow / freeride / groomed terrain.

Size is not chosen by length alone. Weight, surface area, waist width, profile and the effective edge (the part of the edge that cuts into the snow) together decide how a board rides. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. A shorter board turns faster and is more playful; a longer one brings more stability and float. The waist should fit the boot: at about 24-25 cm, boots are usually up to size 42-43 (EU), at 25-26 cm up to 44-45, and the W versions are for bigger feet, so toes and heel don't drag in the snow when carving.
