Travis Rice's everyday Orca – a directional C2X with a floaty nose, a faster edge line and a kicked tail that is friendly to riding switch. One board for piste, deep snow and natural jumps.
The Lib Tech Golden Orca is an Orca that can be your only board. Travis Rice took what he learned from the Orca and combined it with his freestyle dreams from Natural Selection, and merged the Orca with his T.Rice Pro model - a collector's board from his series, made for everyday riding.
The long floating nose stays, the tail is also shorter, but the difference between nose and tail is smaller, and the board is not as wide as the regular Orca. The edge line is straighter and faster - much better suited to the hardpack of the piste and even to the park. The directional C2X gives float in deep snow and a secure edge on hardpack.
The new tail with a kink is friendly for riding switch: on hardpack it works short, powerful and springy, and in soft snow it floats on takeoff and landing switch. You can come out of a jump with a 180, make a few turns switch and get back on the line. The base is the black graphite Knife Cut - sintered, one of the stiffest and fastest the brand makes.
The Golden Orca is the best friend of a rider who wants to ride Travis's series, more of a directional rider, a bit more settled, with one board for everything. With it you can go to Japan for deep snow, then carve up an icy piste in Europe without checking the forecast. The more affordable take on this idea, for us, is the GNU Upgrade.

This is a volume-shifted board - it rides shorter than your usual board, because width and area give the float and stability that otherwise come from length. The table shows the lower weight limit that Mervin gives for each size. The waist is wide - the board also works with big boots without boot drag.
Not sure which size? Message us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
