The third generation of Matt Cummins's surfy deep-snow board – a directional C2 with a big floaty nose, 4" setback and a shorter sidecut radius for the piste. For powder days, trees and groomed terrain.
Lib Tech MC Wayfinder III is the third generation of Matt Cummins' signature surf-style deep snow board - a man who has been designing boards with Lib Tech for more than 30 years and put all his experience from Baker, Baldface and Japan into this shape.
In philosophy it stays the MC Wayfinder II: a directional C2 with a big floating nose, 4" setback and a raised tail. The nose practically does not sink in deep snow, and the tail gives freedom for off-piste riding and freestyle. New for the third generation is the sidecut, reworked for groomed terrain - on the 155 it is only 6.2 m, so the board turns in a small space and holds on hardpack.
The Wayfinder II was the board that many people here bought for deep snow and then discovered it is a great friend on the groomers too. The third version starts exactly there - better on packed hard snow, without losing the surf feel. Control and speed come from Magne-Traction and a sintered base (faster, holds wax).
This is a volume-shifted board (shorter and wider for the same volume) - Lib Tech recommend going 2-10 cm shorter than your usual length. In our opinion it is one of the best boards for groomed terrain on a deep snow day, and one of those snowboard wonders you should try at least once.
Technical highlights: Matt Cummins; directional C2; 4" setback; volume shifted; big floating nose; raised tail; 6.2 m sidecut on the 155; 75% Aspen / 25% Paulownia; tri-axial / bi-axial fiberglass; sintered base; Magne-Traction; flex around 7; freeride / deep snow / carving / groomed terrain.

| Size | Contact length | Waist | Sidecut radius | Stance (min-max / setback) | Flex (1–10) | Rider weight |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 155 cm | 107 cm | 26.2 cm | 6.2 m | 48.9-60.9 / 10.2 cm | 7 | from 65 kg |
This is a volume-shifted board - you ride it shorter than your usual board, because width and surface area give the float and stability that length would otherwise provide. The table shows the minimum rider weight Mervin gives for each size. The waist is wide - the board works with big boots, and the boot won't catch in the snow.
Not sure which size? Write to us or stop by our shop in Golo Bardo, Sofia - we have been riding this stuff since 1997.
